Featuring Lexie Beach and Stacey Gallagher from the Sea Turtle Conservancy
Orlando, FL — Representative Anna V. Eskamani is teaming up with the Sea Turtle Conservancy to mark World Oceans Day and raise awareness about the impact humans of on our oceans and sea turtle environments.
World Oceans Day has been observed on June 8th worldwide since 1992, as a way to celebrate our world’s shared ocean, and raise awareness about the crucial role the ocean plays in everyone’s lives. This month allows those across the globe to learn more about the ocean, and what they can do to protect our seas and the animals inhabiting it.
Lexie Beach and Stacey Gallagher of the Sea Turtle Conservancy will join this virtual program as experts on sea turtles. The Sea Turtle Conservancy is a not-for-profit organization founded in 1959 that has focused on awareness of Sea Turtles, as well as fighting against extinction. Lexie Beach and Stacey Gallagher have worked with the organization for years, supporting education and outreach.
The agenda will explore the species of sea turtles in Florida, threats the turtles face, and how to advocate for sea turtles! Join us today to celebrate World Oceans Day and advocate for our sea turtle friends!
