A virtual conversation with Joseph (Joey) Knoll, MSN, APRN CEO and Medical Services Director at SPEKTRUM Health and Andrew Lent, MPH, Healthcare Equity Trainer at Equality Florida

Orlando, FL Following recent and persistent attacks against the LGBTQ+ community and specifically transgender and non-binary Floridians, Representative Anna V. Eskamani is joining SPEKTRUM Health CEO, Joseph (Joey) Knoll, and Equality Florida’s Healthcare Equity Trainer, Andrew Lent, to discuss the basics of gender-affirming care for youth.

Just this month, the Florida Department of Health released a damaging letter recommending that transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming youth be denied access to gender-affirming care and social transition. The same day, the Florida Department of Education quietly dropped out of a CDC survey tracking mental health, suicidality, and other important risk indicators in teens. These dangerous moves follow a year in which a record-setting 300+ anti-LGBTQ bills were filed across the nation. These politically-motivated attacks are NOT founded in legitimate research and pose extreme harms to already vulnerable LGBTQ youth and adults.

RSVP to learn about compassionate, patient-centered and medically-accurate care and what we can do to advocate for transgender, non-binary, and gender non-conforming youth and people in Florida.
