Orlando, FL – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, an annual public health campaign that engages communities around the topics of breast health and the impact of breast cancer. About 1 in 8 women in the US will develop breast cancer in their lifetime although it can affect all people. Early detection has contributed to a 40% decrease in breast cancer deaths among women from 1989 to 2016. Now more than ever, it is imperative to be educated and remain diligent when it concerns breast health.
Join State Representative Anna V. Eskamani and Susan Fatutta of the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk for a virtual discussion during and related to Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Learn about the importance of breast cancer awareness and ways to support this cause to help our community detect cancer at an early stage.
The Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk provides a space for communities across the nation to gather in a movement against breast cancer while helping to raise money for the breast cancer research effort and to fund vital patient services. The 25th Annual Making Strides of Orlando Fundraising Walk will be held on October 30th at Lake Eola Park at 9AM.
A live program will be streamed at facebook.com/AnnaForFlorida and the Zoom link can be provided to members of the press upon RSVP.
