Dear Friend,
All through the COVID-19 pandemic our small but mighty team has been championing direct constituent services.
We have supported small businesses and helped workers deal with the state’s criminally broken unemployment system. We have delivered rental assistance, provided access to COVID tests, and organized mass vaccination sites. Day and night, we’ve been working hard for the people of Florida.
Which is why I wanted to share with you that based on data collected from March 2020 to June 2021, our team has assisted more than 45,000 people with their unemployment claims. This includes at least one person from every Florida county.
You can check out our data here. Special thanks to one of our volunteers for putting together this visual illustration too.
Of course, this data does not capture individuals we’ve helped since
July 1st, nor will it speak to the folks we’ve assisted online and through our weekly virtual Q&A sessions. But it does speak to the commitment of our team and our collective effort to support one another through this pandemic.
With that said: we know that problems with Florida’s unemployment system have continued, with Floridians missing benefits. If you’re still facing issues with your unemployment claim, please check out our informational blog post here for next steps in seeking assistance.
Onward together,
Rep. Anna V. Eskamani
