Dear Friend,

Every Friday at 5:00pm we host a Virtual Office Hour on Facebook and Instagram Live to answer COVID19 questions from Floridians.

In most cases, the questions are focused on our state’s broken unemployment system. But this time someone tried trolling me about having an F rating from groups like the Florida Chamber.

I wasn’t having it — and you can watch my full response by clicking on the video below.

An F rating from the Florida Chamber is a badge of honor. It means we stood up to the state’s biggest corporations, which want to strip away home rule, take away workers’ rights, make voting more difficult, pollute our environment, and sneak in more tax breaks for themselves while so many others struggle to make ends meet.

It also means we’re not reliant on political contributions made by big corporations — because we’re supported by the generosity of everyday people like you.

I was not elected to represent corporations that already have access to both lobbyists and lawmakers. I was elected to represent the good people of Florida, to amplify your voice, and deliver results that will improve the quality of life for all.

This work is not easy. But it’s possible because of you.

Onward,

Representative Anna V. Eskamani
