Orlando, FL: Following widespread concerns and advocacy surrounding the proposed Sloth World attraction on International Drive, our community came together to demand accountability and protect vulnerable animals. Thanks to those efforts, the facility will not open, and the remaining sloths have been relocated to a safe, accredited environment.
Below is Representative Dr. Anna V. Eskamani’s Statement in Response:

“I want to thank the members of our community, the many advocacy organizations, and Congressman Maxwell Frost for coming together to ensure that Sloth World never opened its doors. From the beginning, our office worked to uplift this issue, raise public awareness, and demand accountability. As part of those efforts, we reached out to Congressman Frost to share our concerns, and we are grateful that he took them seriously and used his platform to draw further attention to this situation.

Because of this collective advocacy and pressure, action was taken. The remaining sloths have now been transferred to Central Florida Zoo, where they will receive care in an accredited setting and have a better chance to thrive. While the loss of so many animals is heartbreaking, this outcome is a powerful reminder of what can happen when a community speaks out, and others listen. Thank you to everyone who raised their voices, organized, and helped ensure these sloths are now in safer hands.”
