Orlando, FL – In recognition of National Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month, Representative Dr. Anna V. Eskamani will host a community town hall on Tuesday, March 17 focused on colorectal cancer awareness, prevention, and early detection.
Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States and is increasingly affecting adults under age 50. Early detection through screening can save lives, yet many Floridians still face barriers to care and access to information.
For Rep. Eskamani, the issue is personal. Her family was impacted by colon cancer with the passing of her mother in 2004. This event will bring together medical professionals, survivors, caregivers, and community members to share information, discuss prevention and screening, and connect attendees with resources.
