I remember on the morning of June 12, 2016, coming to The Center. I knew I wanted to give back to our community who was hurting. I will never forget walking into a sea of people and everyone chose to be here because of all that The Center does for the community.
Pride, by definition, is a way to express emotions, identity and during this month, it is about self-respect and opening up on one’s sexuality. Pride Month also highlights the influences made upon society and politics by the LGBTQIA+ communities and understands the challenges they face to this date.
What inspired you to begin Pizza Slut and what keeps you going now?
My parents are both chefs so I grew to love everything that had to do with food! I began traveling the world in search of the best pizza and hoped to learn from the top pizza makers, and I called myself the “Pizza Slut” because I was getting around just for ‘za!
