National Parents’ Day was first established on July 25, 1994 when President Bill Clinton signed a Congressional Resolution to celebrate and uplift the hard work of parents everywhere. The day is meant to recognize the love and sacrifices between parent and children. All paths of parenthood are celebrated on this day: LGBTQ+ parents, single parents, separated parents, step-parents, and those that take on the parent role for those they love. Parents everywhere truly make us who we are and this day is here to honor the care and love they give.
