Only 1% of Florida businesses even pay a corporate income tax, and now they’re getting a $624 million tax refund
Orlando, FL — At a time when Floridians are experiencing skyrocketing rent and property insurance rates, Governor Ron DeSantis is allowing the state’s most profitable companies to benefit from a $624 million corporate tax break. This is a second set of refunds these companies are receiving, and is double than what was spent on affordable housing programs during the 2022 Legislative Session.
It was reported this week that the Florida Department of Revenue has already started to disperse these funds, and this is due to a 2019 bill that Governor Ron DeSantis signed into law.
Join Florida State Lawmakers and Congressman Charlie Crist as we address Governor Ron DeSantis’ performative nature when it comes to corporate influence in public policy and his lack of attention to the financial struggles Floridians are facing.
