Eatonville, FL — Black Girls Govern will host a CROWN Act Community Conversation to address hair-based discrimination in Florida schools and workplaces. The event will feature individuals personally impacted by hair discrimination, along with a panel of state and federal lawmakers leading efforts to pass HB 235 / SB 252 — The CROWN Act, including Congressman Maxwell Frost (FL-10), Sen. LaVon Bracy Davis (SD-15), and Rep. Dr. Anna V. Eskamani (HD-42).

The conversation will highlight the need to protect natural and culturally significant hairstyles such as braids, locs, twists, and Afros — and will inform attendees on how they can support the bill in the upcoming legislative session.
