The first photos in this email are from 2011, when I was a UCF student showing up for Orlando Pride.
More than a decade later, I’m still here — still celebrating and still fighting — because every person deserves the freedom to live safe and whole as their authentic self.
As we celebrate love in all its forms, let’s also recommit to protecting LGBTQ+ rights and uplifting our queer and trans neighbors — not just in June, but every single day.
In Florida, loving out loud is an act of resistance.
Showing up as your full self is an act of courage.
And building community in a climate of hate? That’s power.
This Pride Month, we honor every LGBTQ+ Floridian who continues to rise — in joy, in resistance, in love.
From the defeat of anti-LGBTQ+ bills in this year’s legislative session to the grassroots organizations doing life-saving work every single day, the fight isn’t over — but we’re still here. Still proud. Still organizing.
Let’s keep showing up. Together.
