Dear Friend,

President Joe Biden approved a major disaster declaration for Florida, meaning that people in nearly three-dozen counties affected by Hurricane Milton can now get FEMA aid.

The full list of 34 counties under the declaration: Brevard, Charlotte, Citrus, Clay, Collier, DeSoto, Duval, Flagler, Glades, Hardee, Hendry, Hernando, Highlands, Hillsborough, Indian River, Lake, Lee, Manatee, Marion, Martin, Okeechobee, Orange, Osceola, Palm Beach, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk, Putnam, Sarasota, Seminole, St. Johns, St. Lucie, Sumter and Volusia.

Residents of those counties can get aid including grants for housing and home repairs, assistance for business owners and low-cost loans to cover uninsured property losses. They can apply for aid by by registering online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov, by calling 1-800-621- 3362 or by using the FEMA App.

FEMA Administrator Deanne Criswell said this week that residents affected by both Milton and Hurricane Helene should register for assistance for each storm.

We are continuing to assess the impact of Hurricane Milton in Orlando and are here to serve you.

That’s why we activated our Constituent Assistance link. If you need assistance with picking up yard debris or need anything at all and live in House District 42, please fill out this form.

If you do not live in HD42, we can work to find other folks and organizations to help.

In service,
