Why I’m Team Anna by Jonathan Torres-Discua

As a child of immigrants, I have seen firsthand the work and struggle that it takes to survive in this country. My mother was a maid and my father was a construction worker who worked diligently everyday to support my sister and I. I made a promise to them that I would use their sacrifices to strive for a better future for myself and the world. With Team Anna I am doing just that and making my parents and I proud.

As a current political science student at the University of Central Florida, I am always looking for ways to gain experience and be present in the political field. That’s why when I was offered an internship with Representative Anna V. Eskamani’s office, I was ecstatic. Joining Team Anna allowed me to learn new skills such as interacting with constituents and participating firsthand in the legislative session analyzing bills.

Being a part of Team Anna helped boost my career and solidified my plans for the future. I am certain that because of my time with the office of Representative Anna V. Eskamani that I will make my parents proud and repay them for their hard work. Thank you Team Anna!
