Last week Florida’s six week abortion ban went into effect. This devastating ban means that abortion seekers in our state will have to travel hundreds of miles to access care, with North Carolina and Virginia being their closest options.

A lot of folks have been asking how they can help, so I wanted to make sure I shared two important points:
First, I encourage everyone who cares about this issue to get involved with the Yes On Four campaign. This ballot initiative is working to restore reproductive freedom in Florida and needs your time, treasure, and talent.
Second, please get to know your local abortion fund. In case you do not know, abortion funds are grassroots organizations dedicated to ensuring that everyone has access to safe and legal abortion care, regardless of their financial situation. These funds operate on the principle that reproductive rights should not be determined by one’s ability to pay.

These organizations are actively raising funds to help support Floridians who now must travel to access abortion care.
