The Central Florida Pledge is a call to action for residents of Central Florida who are tired of hateful discourse and want to create a safe and inclusive community for all. The pledge asks residents to commit to treating all people with kindness and respect, especially those with whom they disagree.
I proudly signed the Central Florida Pledge because I believe in the transformative power of love, understanding, and inclusivity. As someone who grew up in Central Florida and deeply cares about the well-being of our community, I am committed to fostering a safe and welcoming environment for all residents.
I firmly believe that leading with love and approaching conversations with an open heart and mind can bridge divides and foster empathy, even in the face of disagreement. It’s through listening, learning, and leading with wonder that we can truly understand one another and work towards solutions that benefit everyone.
In a world filled with polarization and hate, I firmly believe that combating intolerance and extremism requires a different approach — one rooted in kindness, respect, and dialogue. We cannot combat hate with more hate; instead, we must strive to build connections and understanding.
No one should live in fear, whether in Central Florida or anywhere else.
