The music festival held in Orlando and hosted by Congressman Maxwell Frost
[Orlando, FL – March 05, 2024] Today, Rep. Anna V. Eskamani announced that People Power For Florida (PPFF) helped 538 Floridians become election ready at this past weekend’s Mad Soul Music Festival in Orlando.
As the voter registration partner for the festival, we secured 459 pledges to vote and helped register and updated voter registration for 79 voters. This was the first music festival that People Power for Florida has partnered with and definitely will not be the last–and proved the need for outreach to unique audiences in Florida.
“Since 2021, we have strategically attended events that draw diverse crowds and aim to reach unregistered voters in non-traditional ways,” said Communications Director Allison Minnerly, “this event brought out young and queer people from across Florida to connect their passion for music with the power of using their voice to defend LGBTQ+ rights, abortion access, and to advocate for a ceasefire in Gaza with their vote.”
“Our team is laser focused on empowering the next generation of Floridians to build efficacy and be civically engaged. It was awesome to connect with so many young leaders at MadSoul and we are excited to continue this work into the future,” said founder Rep. Anna V. Eskamani.
Since starting in 2021, PPFF has registered nearly 10,000 voters and has a base of 2,700 volunteers. In 2024, People Power plans to continue statewide outreach and expand efforts to new regions across the state.
