As the sun sets and the eight days of Hanukkah begin, I want to wish all who celebrate a holiday season surrounded by love and family.
Hanukkah reminds us of the power of light and the resilience of the Jewish people in the face of the greatest challenges. Today, as we witness a rise of anti-semitism along with other forms of hate and bigotry it becomes ever more important for us to lift up the voices of marginalized people and advocate for long-lasting peace, globally and locally.
This is a powerful opportunity for people of all origins to recommit ourselves to fighting against anti-semitism, all forms of bigotry, and to stand in solidarity with the diversity that defines Central Florida and the United States.
