Orlando, FL: The Florida Board of Governors is currently considering the attached draft regulation for enforcing the DEI funding ban included in SB266/HB999. We anticipate that some version of this draft will appear on the Board of Governors meeting agenda for November 8th-9th at UCF.
Here is Representative Anna V. Eskamani’s statement in response:
“This ridiculous and likely unconstitutional regulation creates a politically motivated definition of diversity, equity and inclusion that is grossly inaccurate and designed to suppress historically underrepresented students and faculty. This policy is about censorship and exclusion. Period. All Floridians and American deserves to have fair and equal access to higher education, and this regulation would do the complete opposite. I urge the Board of Governors to reject it.”
