Fear Friend,

Today marks the one year anniversary of Mahsa Amini’s death at the hands of Iran’s so-called morality police. She was accused of not wearing her mandatory headscarf correctly, which resulted in her beating, detainment, and tragic death.

Protests erupted around Iran and the world, and today the fight for Zan, Zandegi, Azadi (women, life, freedom) continues.

As the first Iranian-American elected to any public office in Florida I take the responsibility of supporting the freedom fighters in Iran very seriously.

Last legislative session, we were able to pass a bipartisan resolution supporting the people of Iran, and we will continue to advocate for the release of political prisoners and for a Democratic Iran.

Onward,

Rep. Eskamani
