Orlando, FL – With the rise of overdoses in our state and across the country, it is important to support those affected by addiction and those in recovery. On Thursday, September 14th at 1:00 PM, Representative Anna V. Eskamani will host a virtual event to share and discuss recovery and support for those struggling, family, friends, and much more with SMART Recovery. A live program will be streamed at www.facebook.com/AnnaForFlorida.
September 1st marked the first day of National Alcohol and Drug Addiction Recovery Month. In Florida alone, there are over 5,000 overdoses a year, which is 7.49% of nationwide OD deaths. It is important that we better support families, friends, and community members who are impacted. The agenda will discuss how to support those in recovery and how to get involved with Tammy Ginader, a volunteer facilitator and Central Florida Local Coordinator of SMART Recovery.
