Dear Friend,
Women’s Equality Day is celebrated on August 26th and commemorates the significant milestone achieved in the fight for gender equality—the certification of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution in 1920.
This amendment granted some women the fundamental right to vote, a significant step toward recognizing all women’s equal participation in the democratic process.
Today we continue to fight for women’s equality, and to mark the occasion we’re teaming up Team Maxwell Frost, Team Carlos G. Smith, the Orange County Democratic Party and our local caucuses to host a Day of Action in House District 35!
House District 35 will be hosting a special election early next year and we have a monumental opportunity to flip this seat and elect someone who will champion issues like reproductive rights and ending the gender pay gap.
That’s why this day of action will center on going door-to-door to talk to community members about getting abortion on the ballot, and we’ll be asking fellow Floridians to update their Vote-By-Mail ballot request too!
Stay tuned for speaker lineup to help kick off this event and join us as we take action for Women’s Equality Day.
Onward,
Rep. Anna V. Eskamani
