Orlando, FL: The Florida Board of Medicine and Board of Osteopathic Medicine just approved via a virtual meeting emergency rules and consent forms for Gender Affirming Care (GAC). Here is Representative Eskamani’s statement in response:
“It’s incredibly disappointing to see Florida medical professionals approve rules that are clearly designed to make it more difficult for everyday people to access the care they need to stay healthy and strong. Parts of the rules go way beyond the scope of the law, while some language is politically motivated to dissuade people from seeking care. Medicine should not be politicalized. Despite the challenges before us we will continue to fight for our LGBTQ+ community.”
