Orlando, FL: On June 24th, 2022, the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, taking away our constitutional right to an abortion.
One year later, this has been devastating across the nation, as extremist GOP majorities pass cruel restrictions including the 6-week ban right here in Florida. (Please remember that abortion is currently legal up to 15 weeks in FL.)
That’s why on June 24th Representative Anna V. Eskamani will be hosting an event centered on fighting back for abortion access through action! The event will feature a short rally followed by canvassing to gather petitions for Floridians Protecting Freedom’s abortion access ballot initiative.
Speakers will include Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost, Andrea Montanez of the Hope CommUnity Center, and Florida Access Network Board Chair Guerdy Remy.
“Voters overwhelmingly agree that personal medical decisions including abortion deserve to be free from government interference,” said Representative Eskamani. “In 2024, we have the opportunity to put abortion on the ballot through a citizen-led ballot initiative, but we need the help of everyday people. If we organize, we will win!”
