Florida Abortion Fund leaders to host the first Abortion Fund Day at the Florida Capitol
On Wednesday, April 5, Florida Access Network (FAN) will host the first Abortion Fund Day at the Florida Capitol. In 2022 Floridians experienced the biggest changes to our abortion landscape in years. We saw the overturning of Roe, the implementation of the long fought mandatory waiting period, the 15-week abortion ban and now we’re reckoning with the promise of a total abortion ban. It’s time for Abortion Funds to take center stage in the fight for abortion justice.
FAN is excited to facilitate the first ever Florida Abortion Fund day at the capitol on April 5th, 2023. Our theme is “Aborting Stigmas”. Our goal is simple; we want to disrupt abortion stigma and introduce legislators to the power of abortion funds, our partners and our supporters. The stigmas that exist to shame us may not be going anywhere any time soon, but neither are we.
In addition to planned legislative visits with reproductive justice champions we’re having a press conference discussing the demands of abortion funds to honor and support every member of our community in owning and loving their bodies.
