Orlando, FL – Hurricanes form fast and our communities have to respond even quicker during the ongoing storm season. On Thursday July 8th at 12:00PM, Representative Anna V. Eskamani will host a virtual event to share and discuss the best practices for safety and preparedness throughout the 2021 hurricane season. A live program will be streamed at www.facebook.com/AnnaForFlorida. This program will be provided with captions in English and live translations in Spanish and Creole.
June 1 marked the beginning of hurricane season, which runs through November 30. Though storms can vary between a tropical depression to a Category 5 hurricane, each should be taken seriously and has potential to cause harm. This year alone, the NOAA is predicting 13 to 20 named storms of various intensities. The agenda will explore the best ways to stay prepared with Carlos Durden, Assistant Manager of Orange County Emergency Management.
Join us Thursday for a live event offering guidance to those residents and leaders preparing for the ongoing hurricane season.
