Dear Friend,

Happy Veterans Day! Today we honor the contributions of our military service members, and recommit ourselves to ensuring the health and well-being of our veterans.

Yesterday I spent my day with the Florida National Guard at Camp Blanding in Starke, Florida. We dived deep into the needs of Florida’s service members, and I was reminded of the incredible responsibility we have as lawmakers to not only say we support veterans, but to act on that commitment too.

That’s why last week I was proud to help unveil a powerful new mural in the Milk District dedicated to Vanessa Guillen, a 20-year-old Army soldier who was murdered inside Fort Hood and was a victim of sexual assault.

Whether it’s preventing sexual assault, improving access to health care, providing support in attaining affordable housing, or expanding mental health services and job opportunities — we each have the power to stand up for our Democracy and pay homage to those who have served our country through meaningful advocacy and policy changes.

We’re proud to do just that in House District 47, and thank our veterans and their families today, and every day.

Onward,

Rep. Anna V. EskamaniÂ
