Lawmaker organizes volunteers to help clear yard debris in Orlando
Orlando, FL – In the aftermath of Hurricane Ian, Representative Anna V. Eskamani will be hosting a community clean-up Saturday, October 1st in Orlando starting at 9am.
With yard debris, fallen tree branches, and other destruction caused by Hurricane Ian, community members have been working overtime to help their neighbors rebuild. Currently taking requests to Anna.Eskamani@myfloridahouse.gov from those in need, volunteers will be given specific addresses, parks, and neighborhoods to help clear yards and remove debris.
Volunteers are encouraged to bring trash bags, rakes, saws, chainsaws, and other tools if they have them, and a limited supply of tools will be onsite to borrow, too.
The Office of Representative Anna V. Eskamani has also collected items for an emergency supply drive to benefit Ft. Myers. Donations will be accepted Saturday October 1st from 9am-11am. The items of the highest need include portable chargers, fans, batteries, and diapers. More information can be found here.
