Orlando, FL – Floridians are struggling with rising costs, and our state has seen some of the highest rates of inflation. At the end of June, the national inflation rate was at 9.1% with Florida at just over 11%. The cost of living is severely impacting Florida’s families, from rent increases to gas hikes; and low wages makes a difficult situation worse.
On Monday, August 1st at 5:30pm Eastern, Representative Anna V. Eskamani will host a virtual community conversation on the causes and impact of inflation. The event will feature Arya V. Eskamani, a data scientist who analyzes and uses economic data in his predictive models. Arya is also Rep. Eskamani’s big brother!
The session will be spent unpacking the reasons why we’re experiencing inflation, what actions have been taken to combat it, and what we can expect in the near and long-term future. Time will be spent answering pre-submitted and live questions, too.
