The Republican Party of Florida and the special interests who fund them have launched a smear campaign against us.
This morning, they accused me and nine other Democrats of raising money during legislative session and the multiple special sessions Governor DeSantis has dragged us back to Tallahassee for.
Of course, that’s not true. There are many examples of our team reminding supporters that we cannot raise money during legislative session or special sessions. And unlike my Republican colleagues, the money we raise isn’t coming from big corporations and their Tallahassee lobbyists — it’s coming from everyday people like you!
But all Republicans can do is try to distort reality and distract Floridians from the fact that they have done NOTHING on critical issues like affordable housing and the rising cost of rent.
Look, I feel confident that we are on a strong path to victory this November. And so far, 1,451 individual people have made a donation to our campaign and movement — which is a true reflection of our community’s collective impact.
But I know our opponent (whoever they will be when the Republican primary is over) will be well-funded by those who wish to silence our voice and power in Tallahassee.
