Good evening,

We know that the cost of housing in Florida has become a daily crisis for hardworking people. And at Team Anna, we are committed to helping folks navigate any challenge that comes your way, and are focused on solutions and problem solving.

With that said, I wanted to make sure you heard the news that Florida State Lawmakers (like myself!) will be heading back to Tallahassee for a Special Legislative Session focused on property insurance.

Multiple insurance companies are pulling out of Florida while others are increasing their rates leaving homeowners with limited options for coverage. In an effort to prepare for these policy proposals, I hosted a virtual event yesterday focused on the state of property insurance, and heard directly from Floridians what some of their issues and concerns are. I invite you to watch the recording below, and please contact us to let me know what your thoughts and experiences are, too.

In addition to the rising cost of home insurance, our office has been flooded with folks facing rent increases they cannot afford. That’s why I joined other lawmakers in requesting that the Governor expand the Special Session on property insurance to also include finding solutions for the rising cost of rent. You can see that letter here.

In the meantime, if you are facing issues with accessing unemployment benefits, federally funded rental relief or homeowner assistance, food stamps and/or small business relief, please do not hesitate to let us know by using our contact us form. We have a small but mighty team, and will do our best to assist.

Yours in service,

Rep. Anna V. Eskamani
