Over 90 percent of Americans agree that it is everyone’s civic duty to pay their fair share of taxes and that those who cheat on their taxes should be held accountable. Despite this, Florida has an upside-down tax code where lower-paid workers spend a greater share of their income on sales taxes than millionaires.
Fixing Florida’s Corporate Income Tax (CIT) system would be a powerful step in eliminating this inequity. That’s why Representative Anna V. Eskamani is teaming up with Representative Angie Nixon, AFL-CIO Legislative Policy Director Dr. Rich Templin, and Florida Policy Institute Policy Analyst Dr. Esteban Leonardo Santis to host a virtual press conference focused on fixing the CIT.

Right now, Florida’s business lobby is working to permanently cut Florida’s corporate income tax rate which is already too low and ridden w/loopholes. This would be a massive gift to only big corporations and must be stopped.
