More people expected to be reached during the 2024 Annual Caribbean Health Summit

ORLANDO, Fla. – Mark your calendar for the 21st Annual Caribbean Health Summit that will be taking place on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at the Orange County Multicultural Center located at 7149 West Colonial Drive, Orlando, Florida. This free event is a great opportunity for the minority community, particularly the people of Caribbean descent, to take advantage of free health screenings and health information. This family fun event will also include a Kid’s Corner and activities for the family.

Co-chairs of this year’s summit are City of Orlando Commissioner Bakari F. Burns (Dist. 6), Orange County Commissioner Michael “Mike” Scott (Dist. 6) and Florida State Representative Anna Eskamani (Dist. 42). Representative Eskamani said that “I am thrilled to be once again serving as a co-host for the 21st Annual Caribbean Health Summit! This transformative event brings together community partners to help save and change lives. At the event, we’ll provide free health screenings and increase educational awareness around important health topics with a multicultural lens. Make your health a priority and join us”.

The Center for Multicultural Wellness and Prevention Inc. (CMWP) will host the summit in partnership with the Greater Haitian American Chamber of Commerce of Orlando, Caribbean American Chamber of Commerce of Florida Inc., Florida Department of Health in Orange County, Caribbean American Passport Magazine, Central Florida Medical Society and Center for Change.

The 2024 Caribbean Health Summit is also being supported by Advent Health, Community Health Centers, K2 Medical Research, Bliss Health, Midway Specialty Care, Florida Blue, Community Redevelopment Agency, Florida Cancer Specialists, Simply Healthcare Plan and the City of Orlando to provide more services to the community.

The theme of the event “Making your Health a Priority,” was used to ensure that everyone understands that they are in control of their health and wellness and that they should make their health a priority. Health experts will attend the event and share important strategies to embrace your health through prevention of diseases, improving wellness and quality of life. The summit is also an opportunity to engage in health equity with the community.
