August 21st marks Senior Citizens Day, when we celebrate those who came before us and continue to share their wisdom and joy with us.

Resources in Central Florida:

  • Senior Resource Alliance: 3319 Maguire Blvd, Orlando. The Senior Resource Alliance connects elders with community resources they may need, This includes help with medicare, food stamps, utilities, housing, and caregiving.
  • Grace Medical Home: 1417 E Concord Street, Orlando. The Grace Medical Home provides comprehensive primary care to elders. They offer ongoing and coordinated care where patients have an ongoing personal relationship with their physician.
  • SeniorsFirst: 5395 L.B. Mcleod Road, Orlando. SeniorsFirst offers a variety of programs that are meant to enrich the lives of seniors. Their flagship programs include Meals on Wheels, food pantries, and neighborhood lunches.
  • Orlando Senior Helpdesk: Free online service that can connect seniors to other resources they need. They also serve as a way for senior service businesses to do outreach.
  • Jewish Pavilion Senior Services: 421 Montgomery Road, Altamonte Springs. They are a senior recreation center that is geared towards Jewish communities. They bring Jewish holidays, Sabbath Services, and Jewish culture to seniors in long term and assisted care living communities.
  • The Center OWLs Program: 942 Mills Ave, Orlando. The OWLs program aims to connect and empower LGBTQ+ seniors. It does this by serving as active role models and connecting seniors to the resources they need.
