Orlando, FL: Today the Florida Supreme Court issued three out of calendar opinions, including one pertaining to the Yes on Four Campaign and another impacting the 15 week abortion ban. The decision by the court to approve a 15 week ban means that in 30 days Florida will see a 6 week ban go into effect.
Here is Representative Eskamani’s statement in response:
“The implementation of the 6 week abortion ban in our state will be devastating, and is another example of extreme far-right Republican politicians who will stop at nothing to strip us away of our bodily autonomy and personal decision making. For everyday Floridians, regardless of party affiliation, there is overwhelmingly agreement that decisions around one’s pregnancy are personal and private. While we navigate the dangerous and life-risking consequences of this six week abortion ban I feel confident that the tide will turn in Florida come November.”
