Representative Eskamani Will Be Unpacking Corporate Tax Loopholes To Close

Orlando, FL: Tonight Representative Anna V. Eskamani will be hosting a virtual event focused on Corporate Tax Policy in Florida. Why does this matter? Well, taxes are how governments decide how much money they will take from people – and who they take that money from. Regressive tax systems (like in Florida) make income and wealth inequality worse.

For example, in our state the wealthiest taxpayers keep more of their income each year, which makes it easier for them to continue growing their wealth. Meanwhile, lower- and middle-class taxpayers keep less of their income, which makes it harder for them build wealth of their own. Governments then raise less money overall, which means they have less to spend on public benefits and services that help lower- and middle-income taxpayers.

Not only will we talk about this, but Rep. Eskamani will dive deeper into corporate tax policy and how to close loopholes big businesses exploit.
