Dear Friend,

I am excited to announce that on February 4th, People Power For Florida will launch its inaugural organizing bootcamp -– a training for local college and high school students where they will learn best practices for political organizing, community outreach, digital strategy, and go in-depth about the upcoming 2023 Legislative Session.

We’ve hosted voter registration events at FSU, FAMU, UF, UCF, USF, FIU, FAU, FGCU, Florida Southern, Eastern Florida State College, Polk State College, Broward College, and Hillsborough Community College campuses since launching in 2021.

This year we will continue our voter registration efforts but are also shifting gears to build lasting power and create an infrastructure of organizers statewide that can engage and register voters in unique ways and ensure that groups that have traditionally been left behind by political parties get civically involved.

Our first organizing bootcamp will be at UCF, and will feature guest speakers like Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost and former State Representative Carlos Guillermo Smith along with community partners like Equal Ground Florida and local political strategists too.

If you know students in the greater Orlando area please invite them! Our hope is to hit the road and host more bootcamps across the state, too.

Not a student but want to get plugged into our work? We got you covered!

Join us on January 11th, where we’ll be kicking off the new year with our NEW YEAR, NEW FLORIDA 2023 volunteer kick-off call!

If you care deeply about Florida’s future and share our progressive vision, we hope to go over our strategy to engage Floridians ahead of the legislative session, keep registering voters, and build people power together.

As our focus shifts to include voter education and engagement during the 2023 legislative session, we’re going to need all hands on deck. The work we’re doing is so important — and it’s not possible without you.

Thank you for being a part of our work. Onward!

In solidarity,

Rep. Anna V. Eskamani
