What do you love most about having a small business in House District 47?
The community. Everyone has been so supportive especially since COVID-19 happened.
What inspired you to begin LeKy Patisserie and what keeps you going now?
I wanted a place of my own to do what I want. What kept us going is our family. Not only is it our own business, but it’s our livelihood.
What advice would you give to someone else wanting to open a small business?
Do your research. There’s so much more to it than just finding a spot and opening a business. Find a perfect spot and find the right customer base for your business and all the technical and operational stuff that comes with it.
What is one memory from LeKy Patisserie that will always stick with you?
The day we re-opened because of the pandemic! There were so many regulars that came and told us how much they’ve missed us and feared we were gone forever. That meant so much because of how much love we were shown.
How can readers get plugged into your business or show support in 2021?
Instagram is the best way to follow us. We’re most active on it, especially with menu changes and event pop-ups.
